Seasonal topics

Now summer is finally here, it's nice to learn some Italian words with a summer theme!

Italian ice creams are considered by many to be very tasty indeed! So it's useful to learn how to say the Italian words for some different flavours! A great way of practising these words is to design an ice cream menu, with different combinations of ice cream flavours. And once your menu is finished, you can role play buying an ice cream!

If you ever go to Italy it's nice to buy a souvenir of your holiday. So have a look at the un souvenir dialogue below and either practise it with someone, or copy and complete it with one of the items from the list on the right.

A great way of learning / practising the Italian words for a town is to create an Italian holiday resort!  Another nice activity to do is to draw a picture of a beach, and include as many of the things as you can in the word list entitled l'estate.

For both designs, be sure to check your child labels the things they draw in Italian.  And remember to look back at their designs from time to time to help your child remember these words.
